After waiting 25 years to get back to the state tournament, the Robbinsdale Cooper High School football team is one win away from a chance to compete for a state championship.
Cooper (9-2) faces Mahtomedi High School (9-2) at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in the semifinals of the Class 5A state tournament. The winner will advance to the 5A championship game, which will be held Nov. 27, also at U.S. Bank Stadium.

In other exciting news, Cooper High School’s student newspaper The Quill has won several awards from the Quill and Scroll Society: an international second place award for writing and editing, and an “excellent” rating for General Practices. In addition, Journalism Educators of Minnesota awarded the newspaper the All-State Silver award in recognition of excellence in writing, editing, photography and design.
