Who Teaches the Courses?
Courses are taught by Minnesota-licensed, Robbinsdale teachers. Your teacher is committed to your success and is available by email and messaging within Schoology. They will also answer phone calls when available and respond to most messages within 24 hours on school days.
Meet the Teachers
Toni Boyden, Principal
Ms. Boyden is the principal at Robbinsdale Academy - Highview, which encompasses Highview ALC and Alternative Placement. Previously, Ms. Boyden served as Dean for Support Services at Mounds View High School; Special Education Supervisor at Osseo Area Schools, Director of Special Education at Connections Academy (online school); Director of Special Education at the Minnesota Department of Corrections; and Assistant Principal of Bridgeview School in St. Paul.
Brady Syverson, Physical Education & Health Teacher
My name is Brady Syverson and I am a Physical Education and Health teacher at Armstrong High School. I have been teaching for 4 years and started at Plymouth Middle School for 1 year and moved over to Armstrong for the past 3 years. I am a very relaxed, easy-going teacher who likes to have fun and inspire youth to become physically active and live a healthy lifestyle. In my free time, I enjoy coaching/playing basketball as well as golf and running around in the yard with my Great Dane Lucy!
McKenzie Kubista, Health Teacher
My name is McKenzie Kubista and I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor of Applied Science in School Health Education in 2011. I will be graduating with my Masters of Science in School Health Education in July of 2020. I taught at-risk and homeless youth in Duluth before moving to the twin cities. Then, I taught at the Harvest Network of Schools in North Minneapolis before ending up at my dream job in Robbinsdale Area Schools. I currently teach 10th grade Health at Cooper High School. My husband and I live with our dog, Lilah in Crystal and love spending time together at the lake.
